| Abstract: | Based on the discussion on the fundamentals of the Brazilian nationality raised by Guimarães Rosa on his work Pé-Duro, Chapéu-de-Couro, this paper focuses on the reflection that he developed on the fundamentals of the national identity and analyzes the historical period in which the discussion took place, emphasizing Rosa’s effort to value the inland cultural roots in the formation of the Brazilian nationality. |
